Training for the life you actually live.

Every session here has one aim: to make you ready. Ready for the stairs, the trek, the match, and the long day at work. Here is what that means and how we get you there.

What "ready" looks like.

Your body is not built only for mirrors or machines. It is built to move, lift, run, climb, carry, play, recover and adapt. We train the physical capacity, and the steady mind, to meet what your life asks of you.

Read: The gas cylinder test

  • Carry a full gas cylinder up to a fourth-floor flat.
  • Walk up to Nagarkot or Chandragiri without stopping at every bend.
  • Get down on the floor with your kids, and back up without a hand.
  • Play futsal on Friday and walk normally on Saturday.
  • Sit through a long day at the desk without your back complaining.
  • Stay steady when a session, or a week, gets hard.

Same sweat. Different promise.

The usual gym promise The Grounded Gym promise
Look better Move and live better. Looking better comes with it.
Random workouts Sessions with a purpose, planned in blocks.
Fitness that only works inside the gym Training you can take to the park, home and hotel.
Extreme 30-day transformations Readiness you keep for years.
"No pain, no gain" Hard work, added a little at a time.

Move. Perform. Adapt.

Every week of training touches all three. The balance changes with your goal.

  1. Move

Mobility, coordination, balance, joint control and bodyweight skill.

The base everything else stands on. You learn to control your own body before you load it.

In real life Getting up off the floor without a hand. Not rolling an ankle on a broken footpath.

Classes Foundations , Calisthenics Skills , Mobility and Recovery

  2. Perform

Strength, power, endurance and sports-focused conditioning.

The capacity to do hard things: lift, carry, climb, sprint, and still have something left.

In real life Carrying the gas cylinder up four floors. The Saturday futsal match. The climb to Poon Hill.

Classes Strength , Kettlebell Conditioning , Engine

  3. Adapt

Simple training options for the gym, home, park and travel.

A plan that survives real life. When you cannot get here, you still know exactly what to do.

In real life The work trip to Biratnagar. The monsoon week. The Dashain visit home.

    Classes Anywhere Circuit

Tools, not tribes.

Some gyms are a calisthenics gym, a kettlebell gym or a powerlifting gym. We use all four, because each is good at something different. Your goal decides the mix.

  • The pull-up rig with bars, rings and a climbing rope, in evening light

    The rig, for calisthenics

  • Bumper plates and a sandbag on the training floor

The floor, for strength and mobility

  • Four rowing machines in a row by windows looking out over brick buildings

    The rowers, for Engine

Calisthenics

Your body is the weight.

What it builds
Strength for your size, body control, healthy shoulders, and skills like the pull-up.
Why we use it
The most portable training there is. A bar and a floor go almost anywhere, which is why it sits at the heart of Train Anywhere.
Your first step
A 20-second hang and five good push-ups, on a bench if you need to.
Where you'll find it
Calisthenics Skills, Anywhere Circuit · 8 sessions a week

Kettlebells

Strength that moves.

What it builds
Hip power, grip, stamina, and the knack of carrying awkward things.
Why we use it
Real life rarely hands you a load that sits still. Swings and carries build strength and fitness in the same session.
Your first step
The deadlift and the swing, both taught in your first week.
Where you'll find it
Kettlebell Conditioning · 9 sessions a week

Barbell strength

Powerlifting fundamentals, without the ego.

What it builds
Whole-body strength you can measure: the squat, the bench press and the deadlift.
Why we use it
The clearest lesson in progression there is. Add a little, recover, repeat, and watch the numbers climb honestly.
Your first step
Learning the lifts with an empty bar or a light kettlebell.
Where you'll find it
Strength · 9 sessions a week

Mobility

The range to use your strength.

What it builds
Joint control, balance, breathing, and positions you can load safely.
Why we use it
The reason your squat gets deeper and your back stops complaining. Every class starts with it, and one class is all about it.
Your first step
The floor test: sit down and stand back up with as little help as you can.
Where you'll find it
Mobility and Recovery, Foundations · 12 sessions a week
